This might be an old news when people have been talking about the Samsung Galaxy Note but for some, good old news are something still worth talking about.

A 5.3inch display shows that a 4.3 or even a 4.5 inch display just isnt too big for your palm. The market actualy refused on this type of product previously by seeing on how tell Dell Streak went but maybe Samsung’s viral marketing would make a change this time. The device is packed with the Exynos processor like in the Galaxy S2 but its bumped clock again now to 1.4Ghz (the GS2 has a bump to 1.2 from 1Ghz previously around its launch). This babe/dude (what ever you call this “beast” is) is still packed with ARM Mali-400 GPU which is the FASTEST up to date smartphone GPU in the market based on its benchmark and we can also say in real life performance. Yes, i did say up to date since we all know that it will be pawned hard by the iPhone 5 which is packed with the same SOC like in the iPad2 which pawns all other devices but the iPad isnt a smartphone so at least before the iPhone 5 is released, Mali-400 is the king.

Its not only about the size, its now all about the HD SuperAmoled display. I dont think that its a huge diff between the Galaxy S2 display in terms of clarity since SGS2 is a WVGA device at 4.3inch while the Galaxy Note is a 720p at 5.3inch. At a 5.3inch display, the 720p clarity wont be at much but we’ll rejudge it again upon seeing it with the naked eye. Maybe samsung did a better job but nahh, i guess 720p 4.3inch devices or even smaller will have a better clarity and sharpness without having to sacrifice the PPI of the display.

The minimum scrolling is quite a silly thing to be advertising since yes the browser will render more stuffs and packing it into the 720p display, just like the HTC Sensation did. Its like fooling the newbies marketing strat by using the minimum scrolling term on the Galaxy Note. Dont they have anything better to say? The device also offers a stylus, some what the HTC Flyer did but i guess Samsung did a well job or perhaps better as the function was intergrated deeply inside the TouchWiz UI it is using.

So, it is a buy? Its a skip for me. Lets see next on what the Galaxy Tab 7.7 has to offer. Yes, a yesterdays news but why not talking bout em, again

HTC Evo 3D ( glasses-free 3D gaming Youtube Vid)

To anyone who feels sceptical and as if like “3D phones are not useful”.. think again about Nintendo 3DS perhaps and its glass free display. Its the same concept while stereoscopic display grants a 3D experience without glasses. It really benefits gaming i must say. I personally havent tried it but honestly i like the concept and im looking forward to it.

Below is the video of HTC Evo 3D running Asphalt 6 3D. I cant say much but let the reviewer speak for himself about the experience of playing Asphalt 6 in 3D

U know Sassi Bob? The one from XDA TV.. a co host actually on XDA TV. Shes from AndroidGals .com and this video is about she demoing on what major apps that she will install onto her Android device. Yeah, shes using a Evo 3D now woots!

And btw, i have crave over Go Launcher Ex now.. Touchwiz feels like so dull now. For keyboard, im using HTC IME v27 keyboard which is previously released based on the stock keyboard on HTC Desire (Bravo). Suits me fine. Love the smoothness of it and how the it looks and arrangement of letters and spaces. Of course, Opera Mobile is the next best thing after the stock hardware accelerated browser on the Galaxy S2. Its my secondary browser and it never let me down so far.

HTC Sensation “silently hands-on” not-a-review

Posted by on Jun 19, 2011 in Android, Reviews | 0 comments

2nd June, grabbed myself a SIS Distribution set of HTC Sensation for 2xxx!!! (Its available as low as 19xx as i am writing this). Lucky that i havent sold off yet my HTC Desire HD so rather than having time to write about it in total, decided to make a short vid demonstrating my HTC Sensation (not so long, SGS2 is coming maybe)

Video summary :

0:00-0:45 :

The back case and internals. Opened up the back to show up the inner part. The sensation is built in a better construct compared to Desire HD, yes, the DHD has a unibody design but the Sensation feels much more solid compared to the DHD. HTC placed the antennae on the back cover as u can see from the vid. The popular Death Grip issue is a hype during the early weeks when this phone is on sale worldwide (except US market, T-MO US had just got it few days ago).

Honestly, the death grip issue is not normal to me. YES, i am normal and i dont use my phone while placing my palm at the camera area, including landscape as i rest my fingers freely without touching the back. And if i touched it, WIFI would deprecate but do some studies there that the Sensation has a very sensitive algorithm when calculating dB noise increase. Use an app or check the settings to see how much dB it drops and u can see that the signal bar drops too agressive while the signal is still quite steady. Nuff bout the back, lets go to the next part, Sense UI 3.0whsome

0:51-2:30

YES, the Sense 3.0 lockscreen!. Plus, the 3D animated homescreen (yes, its not GPU accelerated but its much better compared to others). I must admit ADW EX launcher is more fluid on the sensation. Used it for a week and it satisfies me more. And when im not using the stock launcher, here is my fav setup (for now) on sensation. Yup, stock rom, not rooted.

- Sense 3.0 lockscreen, plain, not the weather. The weather lockscreen is a WOW factor actually. LOL

- ADW EX with animated flips. 5 dockbars with a hidden dockbar

- I didnt throw away htc sense framework so i still have all my HTC Sense Apps. Yes, HTC Mail and HTC Premium Navigation is still in and it rocks!. I must admit that when i move away to Galaxy S2, the thing i would miss the most is those two features (apps actually, built into the framework, a widget too)

Noticed that i used the pull down notification which now includes settings. Indeed that it is very useful. The notification bar on Sense 3.0 includes Recent Apps, current notification and also Settings Toggles! FTW!. Very useful and its awkward that i sometimes hold the home button to get recent apps list when i have it on my noti bar :)
